Panditarama Lumbini

Centre in the Buddha’s birthplace (Lumbini, Nepal) under the guidance of Sayadaw U Vivekananda (Germany, 1956) and Burmese nun Sayalay Bhadda Manika (1955). They were both students of Sayadaw U Pandita (1921 – 2016, Burma), Mahasi Sayadaw’s successor. Every year in April, May and June U Vivekananda uses to go to Europe, Australia or USA for teaching, and Daw Bhadda Manika uses to go to Malaysia or Indonesia. The rest of the year one can apply for a retreat in this centre with a minimum of seven days. Here I went in 2011, 2015 en 2016. See also Facebook page for up-to-date communication and events.

The center is scheduled to conduct intensive retreats following the Mahāsi Sayadaw’s Instructions on the 1st of November, 2023.
A month-long virtual retreat abroad organised by experienced meditators from Australia that would start on the same date.
Due to this, the 24-26 retreat spaces for both virtual and on-site for the whole month of November have already been occupied (That means it has reached the limit within our capacity).
We apologise for the retreat requests that have turned down, and for confusion of some inquiries.
Retreat space availability for short term retreats: 7-10 days, during the first half of December 2023 ONLY might be possible.
More spaces will be available after mid-January 2024 until the end of March.
The center will be closed for a few months starting from the 31st of March 2024.
